Remember that a first impression is everything.
Your home’s curb appeal is the key to acquiring
the best possible price.
Things to do to enhance your curb appeal:
The Front Yard
Your
lawn should be evenly cut, freshly edged, and free of
yellow spots. Re-sod these areas if
necessary. Rake up loose leaves and grass
cuttings. In the
summer, it’s nice to have a pot of fresh flowers
near the front entrance. Replace
any dead shrubs and remove dead trees and branches.
Exterior
Repaint
the front and back doors if necessary. Replace
any torn screens. Wash
all windows. Pressure
wash the exterior. Ask
your Realtor® if repainting is necessary. Choose
a neutral color that fits well in your neighborhood.
(Be sure to get approval from your
home owner’s association first.) Discuss
replacing or repairing concrete with your Realtor®.
Especially if it is a tripping hazard.
The Back Yard
Your
lawn should be evenly cut, freshly edged, and free of
yellow spots. Re-sod these areas if
necessary. Rake up loose leaves and grass
cuttings. Clear
your yard of clutter (toys, lawn tools, etc.) If your
backyard is small remove whatever you can to make it
appear more spacious. (Metal swing
set, trampoline, etc.) Replace
any dead shrubs and remove dead trees and branches.
